IT IS UP TO YOU TO MAKE SURE YOU STUDY THE MAP & ALL OF THE CAUTION SIGNS THAT ARE NOTED ON THE RIDE WITH GPS FILE.

YOUR SAFETY & OVERALL EXPERIENCE IS OUR BIGGEST PRIORITY THIS WEEKEND. WE TAKE IT VERY SERIOUSLY AND EXPECT YOU TO UNDERSTAND THE COURSE ON YOUR OWN TERMS IF YOU CAN'T BE APART OF THE MEETING ON FRIDAY NIGHT. THANK YOU!

WHat kind of bike should I ride?
we recommend you ride the bike you love most for The Spirit World 50, 80 & 100.
  • There's so many different companies out there  making incredible gravel focused and inspired bicycles. If you own one of these bikes, you'll probably love to ride it at this event.
  • If you don’t have a gravel bike yet, but you own a mountain bike. It will be a perfect bicycle to ride either The Spirit World 100 or 50 mile course.
  • We ride drop bar gravel bikes here at The Spirit World 100 hQ.
    • QUICK TIP: Your bike choice is yours to make on your own. Here’s a few things to consider in making this decision.
      • The Spirit World 100 and 50 mile course options have no single track sections
      • The gravel conditions in the San Rafael Valley are rough and bumpy. We recommend using tires that are no smaller than 700x35c or equivalent.
      • We highly recommend you only run your tires tubeless
      • Both the 100 and 50 mile course options have long climbs, big descents and wide open stretches of rolling terrain. Choose the bike you’re most comfortable on for 5 or more hours at a time.

Will the course be Marked? I'd hate to get lost!
The course will Have:

VERY MINIMAL Signage and course markings!!!!

BE PreparED.

Please upload the course route onto your ride computer.

But Wait a minute... why wont the course have very good signage?
(don't worry, we promise we have a good reason!)

Our Whole Hearted reason:
  • You will be embarking on an adventure into one of the most pristine grassland preserves in the entire United States.
    • The Arizona State Parks says it best. Click here to learn about the biodiversity that you'll be riding your bikes amongst!
  • We are simply in love with this land & strictly adhere to The Leave No Trace Principles.
  • Our biggest goal is safety. So, there will be traffic safety signs, and very limited event signage in the San Rafael Valley.
  • There will no turn-by-turn signage on course.
  • Without constant signage and cars on course, You will have the opportunity to feel a special connection to the SPirit World 50 & 100 course. It's empowering to look at your GPS, trust it & know where you're at (more or less), AT all times.
    • You will receive a link to the course "cue sheets" that we require you print out and carry along with you on your adventure, just in case your GPS dies.
    • We will release the Spirit World 50 & 100 course on Sunday, OCtober 27th at 6PM MST.
    • You will have 12 days to make sure you upload it properly to your chosen GPS.
    • If you don't already own a ride GPS, we highly recommend purchasing: WAHOO Element ROam

Why aren't any support crew's allowed on the course?
the beauty of riding your bicycle in the San Rafael Valley is.... simply one of the most... invigorating feelings in the world.

We want you to experience what it feels like to ride your bicycle out there, the same as it does every other day of year.

This is a place where very few humans travel. If we allow support crews on course, the magic of ripping your bike through the valley will be lost.

Will there be food options for folks who are gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, nut free, soy free?
Absolutely!
  • We are food nerds & do our best to make sure your hunger is in good hands at all times.

Can my family/friends join me at meals that are included in my race entry?
