SW100 Reviews
Total adult summer camp vibe but way better! Traveled to the event solo but never felt alone. The group ride on Friday really gave an authentic opportunity to connect with others while riding bikes, which is literally the best way to make friends.
100% different. intimate. welcoming, delicious. thoughtful. hard. fun. trippy. gorgeous.
incredible male/female balance. thank you. no one likes a sausage party.
this was a true gravel event... if you compare it to BWR... that is mixed road/off-road - unique, but not a true gravel adventure. I'm from Tucson, but hadn't ridden or visited the area other than driving on Hwy 83/82... I was blown away by the beauty of the area. Most of my gravel riding has been east or north of Tucson... now that I've gone south, I have a new favorite place to ride.
Thought that us riders got a big deal for all the that SW100 offered. I felt like you could have charged more.
very different- more sense of community, less sense of competition. Sure we had a friendly sprint to the line, but that was after 50 miles of sitting up and chatting and laughing our asses off and talking about how we wouldn't have made it through the event if we were gunning it. I'm SUPER competitive and this was an event where I was pushing my limits and knew I would be tired, but didn't absolutely murder myself for a podium because that's not the vibe that we got out there.
perfect balance of vibe and people and adventure but also extremely well organized.
It reminds me of local grassroots MTB races when I was a child, but with a completely different race experience from anything I've ever done. Community, food, camping, hanging out. It is simply the coolest event I've ever done and I've done quite a few, from various disciplines.
Even though it was a "race" the vibe was chill and everyone was so nice!
I feel your intentions is making people ride w smiles was spot on. It was a challenging course but doable for all levels of riding. Support was great.
Loved the small event, welcoming, friendly organizers, great camping, unique. Loved the crystals :)
Authentic and Sensitive to Place - no event tries to connect you to the place you are riding or racing. They are typically selling a brand and not an experience.
Because it felt more like a family reunion than a race it was different. Because everyone knew someone, it was different. Because it was run by family for family, it was different. The spirit World is in a class by itself. It is a gathering of people who love bikes and people. Every single person at the event was absolutely simply goodness!
I loved the homey/grassroots/non-corporate feel of it.
The location, Patagonia and San Rafael Valley made all of the difference. The funky feeling, nice people (cyclists, volunteers, locals) just felt good.
I wish we would have been able to stay for the band, award ceremony and party, so next year will stay another night. Looked like a blast! Thanks for sharing this experience and sure you will be as BIG as you want to be next year.
Felt like a small community of friends who happen to ride 100 miles of gravel. Loved camping with everyone! The vibe was amazing!
it's very far away for most people coming. And the goodies and food were all local which was cool and different from other events. Most people do the cheapest thing possible for race/event food.
The multi day inclusive event gives you the opportunity to get to know who you are riding with which enhances the experience.
Beautiful scenery. Community vibes. Not bombarded by marketing.
Definitely a warm, welcoming event. The whole family was involved- I really appreciated their support of all of us.
Amazing experience, great value,
Love the food and community connection.
I love that there were many events over the weekend.
It had a super chill vibe! Very friendly and exactly what I like in a gravel event. thank you for a weekend that I will hold tightly for the rest of my ever!
The passion/love, and family support, came through in the quality/vibe of the event. Loved that it was a family affair.
Great vibes and low key and fun - reminded me of old mtb days.
Sense of community. Honoring connection to place and the land - local food.
Chill. Different prizes and takeaway gifts. Inclusive food was great. Liked the small town atmosphere
Small, intimate, amazing.
full spectrum of cyclists, and great that you had over 42% women!
More of a community feel than at other races, everyone was so happy to be there, felt like we were in on something special. Everyone camping together is really fun and I made new friends. Thanks to all of you!
More is more in terms of the event! I'd spend a week there eventing if I could. I did not think 220 was a lot of money. I would pay double that for an event deserving of it. This one more than warranted the cost! DK is over 240.00 (I think) and the give back from them is cool socks and a water bottle, not much in terms of the experience which less face it, ya can't put a price on that. You guys rocked it!
Donuts Tequila great dinner and breakfast and the best low key vibe!

the riding is remote, only a few cars, had wide open spaces, climbs. Cool riding along the border. All types of gravel, loose, packed, rocky etc...
Community building. I found that the town was small and not much to do which focused the participants together more than they would otherwise. We were able to meet new people which is unique to other events that I have attended.
Community vibe and everyone out to have a good time. Not super racey/serious. So nice to meet so many people excited to ride bikes. Felt like family.
Felt very personal and special.
